CAPITAL REGIONAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR

Prospective Science Fair Judge Information

We are coming up on the twenty-fourth year of the Capital Regional Science & Engineering Fair. This year the College of Arts and Sciences at Florida State University will be co-sponsoring the fair along with the College of Medicine, Tallahassee Junior Woman's Club and the Leon County Public Schools. High schools and middle schools in Leon and Jefferson counties will send the winners of their school fairs to participate in the Capital Regional Fair.

We will need 150 judges to interview and evaluate the projects of approximately 275 middle-school and high-school students who participate in the fair. Judging will take place from 8:00 a.m. until noon on Friday, February 15, 2008. Each project is entered in a specific scientific category. Teams of judges will interview students and select a winner and runners up for each category. Winners will proceed to state and international competitions.

If you are interested in judging please complete the online judge’s registration form found below. Please submit it by Friday, December 22nd, 2007. Please select all the categories you feel qualified to judge. In addition, please select whether or not you intend to stay for the free lunch sponsored by local middle and high schools.

Once your form has been received, a notification will be sent to you via email. If you have any problems, please contact me at 850-644-9828 or email me at lutz@bio.fsu.edu.

On behalf of the student participants, we would like to thank you in advance for considering this service opportunity.
